Documents required to apply IEC Code.

Documents required for applying IEC code depends on the type of business. We are giving the list below. This list can also be obtained from DGFT website. These documents can be uploaded in JPEG or GIF format (always check the document format before uploading).

Documents Required for IMPORT EXPORT CODE – Proprietor (Individual)

  1. Scan Copy of Photograph of the Owner of business (GIF/JPEG).
  2. Scan Copy of PAN card of Individual.
  3. Scan Copy of one ID proof e.g.  Voter ID/ Driving Licence/ Aadhar card/ Passport.
  4. Scan Copy of Latest electricity and Landline telephone bill of Registered office.
    • If Electricity bill / Landline Bill is not in your name – you can attach NOC from owner.
  5. Scan Copy of front page of Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned or Rental Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased.
  6. Scan Copy of Bank Certificate and Cancelled Cheque bearing preprinted name of applicant and A/C No.

Documents Required for IMPORT EXPORT CODE – Partnership Firm and LLP  (Same for both)

  1. Photographs of all the Partners.
  2. Copy of PAN card of the firm / LLP.
  3. Copy of Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence / Aadhar card (any one of these) of all the Partners.
  4. Copy of Partnership Deed / LLP Agreement.
  5. Latest electricity and Landline telephone bill of Registered office.
    • If Electricity bill / Landline Bill is not in your name – you can attach No Objection Certificate.
  6. Sale deed, in case business premise is self-owned; or Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased.
  7. Bank Certificate and Cancelled Cheque bearing preprinted name of the applicant entity and A/c No.

Documents Required for IMPORT EXPORT CODE – LLP / Company

  1. Photograph of the all Partners / Directors of the Company.
  2. Copy of PAN card of the LLP / Company.
  3. Copy of Passport / Voter ID / Driving Licence / Aadhar card (any one of these) of all Partner’s/Director’s.
  4. Certificate of incorporation as issued by the RoC.
  5. Latest electricity and Landline telephone bill of Registered office.
    • If Electricity bill / Landline Bill is not in your name – you can attach No Objection Certificate.
  6. Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned; or Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased.
  7. Bank Certificate and Cancelled Cheque bearing preprinted name of the company and A/C No .

Important Notes:

  • Scan Copy is required for all documents in JPEG/GIF form. You can use Scanner or mobile camera to take images, but double check image format.
  • You can obtain sample of Bank certificate from DGFT website.
